Renowned Asian Curator Doryun Chong named Chief Curator of M+ | |
Shortly after the unveiling of the M+ building design last month, the M+ team has heralded another coup with the appointment of Mr Doryun Chong, a respected name in the international museum field, as the visual culture museum’s Chief Curator. The cultural district is one step closer to becoming an international arts hub in the world’s art scene.![]() Dr Lars Nittve is very pleased with the find. He said, "I am thrilled that Mr Doryun Chong is joining the M+ team. We have been searching for a right Chief Curator for years and with his extensive knowledge and understanding of the contemporary art scene, not the least in Asia, Doryun is an extraordinary addition to our growing team," Mr Chong has been visiting Hong Kong for curatorial research since 2001 and he has witnessed the rapid exponential growth of Hong Kong’s art scene, longing to be part of shaping the place and the discourse. "I am extremely excited about M+'s vision of creating a unique 20th and 21st century multidisciplinary institution of visual culture. I look forward to working with the already accomplished, diverse team of curators at M+ to build a truly global museum that is also locally rooted and contribute to making Hong Kong a great cultural hub," said Mr Chong. |
