Eddy produces for Cultural Olympiad in London
Eddy Zee, a scholar of the Advanced Cultural Leadership Programme sponsored by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, will produce a Shakespearean play for the Cultural Olympiad in London next year.
As Hong Kong Dance Company’s Company and Programme Manager, this marks the second time for Zee to join the Cultural Olympiad events: in 2008, Zee produced Hong Kong Dance Company’s performance at the Pre-opening ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games in the National Stadium.
After four years, Zee is appointed as the freelance producer for Titus Andronicus (2012), one of the 37 multi-lingual Shakespearean productions in the Pre-London Olympics celebration that will start on Shakespeare’s birthday on 23rd April.
“I am excited about working with Director Tang Shu-wing and 12 talented young artists for this production and very proud to represent Hong Kong in this meaningful occasion,” said Zee. Titus Andronicus (2012) will be performed in Cantonese at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre on 3rd and 4th May 2012.
