WKCDA executive team fully in place
The WKCDA has filled all executive director positions with the appointment of Mr Lars Nittve as Executive Director, M+ on 23 June. In his new capacity, Mr Nittve will be responsible for all content and exhibitions of M+, a groundbreaking new museum concept planned at the future West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), and the Exhibition Centre with a focus on arts, culture and the creative industry.
Together with Mr Graham Sheffield, Chief Executive Officer, and Mr Louis Yu, Performing Arts Policy and Management Services Executive Director, Mr Nittve will be responsible for liaising with local and international stakeholders and refining the vision, mission and artistic direction of the WKCD’s arts and cultural facilities. They will also work to recruit further senior staff to ensure a strong and balanced team across the spectrum of the arts.
Mr Sheffield said, “Lars will bring a wealth of international experience and proven success at the top level to this critical role, and he will be involved from the outset in the planning, design and curatorial development of M+, as well as its future collection.”
Mr Nittve has over 30 years of experience in the arts. He is a renowned museum director, curator and educator who has headed world-class facilities such as London's Tate Gallery of Modern Art and Stockholm's Moderna Museet. Mr Nittve will assume office in January 2011 and will report directly to Mr Graham Sheffield.
