WKCD Authority Appoints Director of CEO’s Office

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WCKDA) today (16 July 2010) announced that Ms Bonny Wong had been named Director, Chief Executive Officer’s Office, with effect from 2 August 2010. She will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the WKCDA, Mr Graham Sheffield.

Graham Sheffield said, “Ms Wong has exactly the administrative, organisational and communications skills that my office needs in order to operate efficiently. She will be invaluable as we, together as a new team, undertake public engagement, master planning for the district and community liaison.”

In her new role, Ms Wong is responsible for supporting the CEO in coordinating all operational and project-related activities to ensure that all processes and roles are clearly defined and that teams work efficiently across functions. In addition, she will support the administration of the WKCDA Board as head of the Board secretariat, and assist in conducting external liaisons.

From 2005, Ms Wong served as Head of Charities for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, where she was in charge of the overall operations of the department including donations, personnel management and administrative matters. She was also instrumental in conceptualising and initiating various major social and educational projects during her term of office.

Ms Wong’s first degree was Bachelor of Arts, majoring in music. She was trained as a solicitor in the United Kingdom and has practised law in both the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
